I believe a strong working relationship between client and counselor allows for trust and healing. I am a retired soldier and a military spouse and have seen resiliency at work and believe it resides in everyone.
Reach out today and let's talk about how we can get started. We're here to help.
I am a dedicated/passionate/skilled and caring professional counselor who believes in the healing power of connection, change, and individual empowerment. I work with adult individuals, families, and couples at the weekly outpatient treatment level. I provide treatment services to address depression, anxiety, transition/adjustment issues, emotional issues, OCD, phobias, panic attacks, grief/loss/traumatic grief, trauma, substance use, emotional dysregulation issues, self-harm, stress, suicide ideation or behavior, narcissism or codependency, intimacy and sex issues, and relational issues/disconnection from self. My time in service with the
United States Army and United States government has also contributed to my experience with treating and understanding service related issues. My approach is based on theories that encourage personal exploration of ourselves, our experiences, and how we relate to others in order to gain valuable insight, awareness, and understanding of our emotional/internal worlds to promote/sustain adaptive behavior change, increase connection/congruence with self, and move toward a meaningful and values-based life.Clients working with me can expect a safe, validating, compassionate, empathic, confidential, genuine, and collaborative space where they are encouraged to take the time for themselves and explore what matters most. I believe that the human experience, which is filled with its ups, downs, and challenges for all of us, was never meant to be experienced alone, but rather with the support and trusting connection with other people. This belief is at the core of my practice and ultimately what I seek to provide to every client. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) who holds specific certifications in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Advanced Compassionate Bereavement Care (MISS Foundation), and am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. I am a mom of a young child, a cat-lover, and an aspiring yogi.

I am a graduate student with the University of Louisiana Monroe earning my master’s in science in Counseling with a dual concentration in clinical mental health and addiction counseling. I earned my B.S in Psychology from the University of Maryland Global College in December 2021. I am a military spouse and have had the opportunity to experience diverse cultures and meet individuals with diverse backgrounds. Living in various parts of the United Stated, Germany, traveling in Europe and Mexico has increase my appreciation of diversity. Growing up in a Hispanic culture, I understand firsthand the stigma behind mental health and the influence cultural believes have on an individual to not seek help when struggling with mental health. I am passionate about decreasing the stigma in mental health and helping individuals break down that barrier with psychoeducation about mental health. Understanding that every individual that walks through the door is unique, therefore treatment plans and goals are tailored individually and collaboratively with evidence-based practices. My goal is to provide you with a healthy safe space to effectively achieve your goals to the best of my ability.

It is my desire to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where individuals can freely express themselves. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Decision Sciences (Management Information Systems) from East Carolina University and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern University A&M College. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and traveling.
